We are delighted to announce that Ali Salehi has successfully defended his doctoral thesis!
The defense was supported by Prof. Giorgio Cattaneo and Prof. Birgit Glasmacher as reviewers, with Prof. Monilola Olayioye serving as the examination chair.
Ali joined our institute during a crucial period of transition, as we embarked on a new research direction. His contributions played a key role in establishing novel technologies in the field of vascular tissue engineering and integrating them into both research and teaching. As part of his work, he developed innovative approaches for hydrogel surface engineering and led the Hashtag project, supported by the Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg, which focuses on producing vascular scaffolds using decellularized tubular plants.
While we will miss him as a colleague, we are excited to see him take the next step in his career in the cardiovascular industry. We look forward to staying connected and hope for future collaborations.
