We are delighted to share that our PhD student, Ashkan Shiravand, successfully defended his doctoral thesis.
The doctoral defense was supported by Prof. Giorgio Cattaneo and Prof. Anna Hundertmark as reviewers and by Prof. Carsten Mehring as examination chair.
During his time with us - especially throughout the intensive phase of building up the institute - Ashkan made valuable contributions to both our research and teaching activities. His work focused on the development of pulsatile mock circulatory loops, the fabrication and characterization of hydrogel models, and fluid dynamics investigations using ultrasound.
While we will greatly miss him as a colleague, we are excited to see him take his next steps in industry - continuing his journey in the cardiovascular field. We look forward to staying in touch and hopefully collaborating again in the future.
